Ricoh at the "Innovate" online event

Ricoh Europe, London, 12 October 2021. Ricoh will showcase the next steps and future innovations in the evolution of digital textile printing at the virtual Innovate event from 25-29 October.

Visitors to the virtual, 24-hour, five-day event, sponsored by Ricoh, will be able to explore Ricoh's expanding portfolio of digital textile printing systems that enable printers to expand their offerings and increase their revenues. Ricoh's stand will feature a range of product demonstrations on innovative technology and a library of educational, inspirational videos and a host of creative applications will be available. One-to-one appointments can also be booked, while live chat will allow questions to be answered quickly.

Among the highlights of the show will be the Ri 1000 Direct to Garment (DTG) printer, which now also has film transfer printing capabilities with the new Print Mode White. The retrofit feature complements the Print Mode White ink, which was first used for traditional DTG printing. Evolutionary technology is a quick and easy process that produces highly creative products quickly and affordably. Using pre-printed designs, the foiled images are heat-transferred onto the pre-treated garments. Patterns can be pre-produced and stored as Ready-to-Go transfer films for quick use on cotton, man-made fibres and many other fabrics.

The advantages of film transfer printing include working with materials that are unsuitable for DTG printing, such as water-repellent surfaces like leather and nylon. It is ideal for use on synthetic sportswear and workwear, as it provides high quality even under heavy use and wash cycles.

which makes it easy to print custom T-shirts or canvas bags. The Ri Ri 100which makes it easy to print custom T-shirts or canvas bags. The Ri 2000 will also be showcased, demonstrating the printer's ability to deliver uncompromising high performance, innovative features and unrivalled value.

Ricoh will also use the event to launch its new DTG inks. These now comply with the Global Organic Textile Standard 6.0 (GOTS) and meet the globally recognised requirements for organic textiles, expanding the market application possibilities.

Participants will learn how the systems support key issues facing the textile community, including:

  • Print on demand for just-in-time delivery to ensure less storage and less waste.
  • Relocation of clothing production to reduce emissions
  • Digital small-scale production as a sustainable alternative to traditional long-term analogue production

Ricoh also reports on its new Textile Competence Centre at Frankfurt Airport. In addition to Ricoh's complete digital textile manufacturing portfolio, the centre will provide a showroom for software solutions such as ColorGATE RIP, which provides a 36-second turnaround time for customised garment products.

Axel Stuhlreiter, Head of Textile Solutions, Graphic Communications Group, Ricoh Europe: "We are delighted to support this event, which showcases our latest innovations that are driving the development of digital textile printing. Our customers will benefit from the markets opened up by our affordable and easy-to-use systems, which consistently and repeatably produce high quality results.
