„Establishing the "Fair Trader - Fair Service Provider" trademark in Hungary and Slovakia
The Heves County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the leading partner, together with the Nagykapos Regional Association for Enterprise Development (SK) and the North Hungary Regional Association for Consumer Protection (HU), successfully applied for the "Fair Trader - Fair Service Provider" trademark in Hungary and Slovakia within the framework of the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Slovakia 2007-2013.
The aim of the competition is to create a trademark for the trade and service sector with the involvement of Hungarian and Slovak public bodies, interest representation organisations and consumer protection associations, which will enable businesses to proudly carry the title "fair trader - fair service provider".
During the programme, we developed a certification system based on self-assessment, monitoring and a committee decision. We designed and developed the logo for the scheme, which was used as a trademark in the course of the competition. In the course of this process, we tried to promote this trademark in the Hungarian-Slovak border areas through a large-scale marketing campaign, so that regardless of nationality, if a consumer sees this trademark in a shop window in Hungary or Slovakia, he or she can be sure that he or she is dealing with a business that is a consumer and that operates fairly, measured by common standards.
Winning the label benefits consumers and businesses alike. By creating a positive list, our aim is to give honest businesses on the list a business advantage, a bigger market and a competitive edge.
