Typically, CATV systems are offered for dormitories, hotels and condominiums. Signal sources can be cable television and satellite broadcast. The system is based on a coaxial cable network, which can carry television broadcasts and, in the case of two-way central units, other digital data (e.g. Internet).
The advantages of cable TV systems:
- Good quality transmission can be ensured even with a large number of endpoints.
- Service levels are scalable - channel allocation.
- With one special subscription, the entire facility can be covered.
- The cable system can even be used for Internet service.
